Let one of our outdoor guides take you on an unforgettable hiking adventure or at least let us point you in the right direction. Our hikes cover a wide variety of terrain and difficulty levels. High desert and steep canyon walls will be your setting at the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park.
High altitude and incredible 360 degree views of many ranges including the San Juan Mountains, West Elk Mountains, La Salle Mountains, many others will be seen from the almost 12,000 foot peak of Bald Mountain. From our easy Smith Fork River Walk to the 9 mile Pieburn Trail all day hike, there are plenty of trails to keep any hiker entertained.
Any time of the season is great time to hike, however there are some extra special times. The wildflowers in early June are plentiful and can be found at even the lower elevations. Wild Mushrooms such as Chanterelles, Morels, and Boletes can be found in early June as well. The colors found on the trees and brush in late September and early October are incredible. Aspens, Gamble Oaks, Berry Brush, and Cottonwoods produce brilliant reds, oranges, and yellows, to contrast with the rich Evergreens.
