A premier Colorado guest ranch, Smith Fork Ranch is located between Aspen and Telluride on the western slope of the Rocky Mountains. The ranch is surrounded by (with direct access to) some million acres of the Gunnison National Forest and the West Elk Wilderness, Colorado’s least used wilderness area which provides some of the best trail riding, hiking and back country fishing opportunities in the state. In addition, the ranch has six ponds and three miles of the Smith Fork of the Gunnison running through the property for great private-water trout fly fishing. On ranch activities for guests as well as employees also include archery course, horseshoes, and disc golf course. Our guest capacity is 26-28. Our staff numbers 27-28 during peak periods of the summer/fall season. Our primary purpose is to provide a really fine vacation for families and couples and individuals who want to experience the west. That must be the focus of staff members at all times.
