Smith Fork Ranch is located 7 1/2 miles east of the town of Crawford on Colorado's western slope. We are located conveniently within two hours of three major area airports that all have regular flights from Denver, Salt Lake City, Phoenix and Houston. If you prefer to drive, Denver is a beautiful five hour drive away. We offer pick-up and drop-off service for our guests at Montrose, Grand Junction Gunnison, Aspen and Telluride airports. Rental car services are available.




Directions to the ranch from these airports are as follows:

Montrose
1 hour, 20 minutes

60 miles Turn right out of the airport onto Hwy 50 north and drive approximately twenty miles to the town of Delta. Turn right onto highway 92 east and continue through Hotchkiss and southeast into the town of Crawford. Turn left at Dogwood avenue (between the post office and church) and proceed east approximately 2.3 miles to Needle Rock Road (dirt road) and turn right. Drive east another 4 miles, passing Needle Rock on the left and look for the ranch sign on the left side of the road.

Grand Junction
1 hour, 45 minutes

82 miles Follow signs out of the airport to reach I-70 east. Proceed east on I-70 5 miles to Clifton and turn right onto Hwy 141 south. Continue south on Hwy 141 1.5 miles to 32 road. Go left onto 32 road and proceed 8 miles south to Hwy 50. Turn left on Hwy 50 and go 30 miles east to the town of Delta. Turn left at Hwy 92 east in Delta and continue through Hotchkiss and southeast into the town of Crawford. Turn left at Dogwood avenue (between the post office and church) and proceed east approximately 2.3 miles to Needle Rock Road (dirt road) and turn right. Drive east another 4 miles, passing Needle Rock on the left and look for the ranch sign on the left side of the road.

Gunnison
2 hours

67 miles (very scenic and beautiful drive- very windy) Follow signs out of airport to Hwy 50 (Tomichi Ave.) east and turn left onto highway. Proceed east 26 miles alongside Blue Mesa Reservoir to Hwy 92 (intersection is at Blue Mesa Dam). Turn right onto Hwy 92 north and cross dam. Continue 41 miles along the canyon rim (very beautiful) and north into Crawford. Turn right at Dogwood avenue (between the post office and church) and proceed east approximately 2.3 miles to Needle Rock Road (dirt road) and turn right. Drive east another 4 miles, passing Needle Rock on the left and look for the ranch sign on the left side of the road.

Aspen
2 hours

113 miles Follow signs out of the airport to Hwy 82 towards Glenwood Springs. Turn left onto Hwy 133 at Carbondale. Continue on Hwy 133 to Hotchkiss. Turn left onto Hwy 92 in front of City Market in Hotchkiss. Continue on hwy 92 to the town of Crawford (about 9 miles). Turn left at Dogwood Avenue (between the post office and church) and proceed east approximately 2.3 miles to Needle Rock Road (dirt road) and turn right. There is a ranch sign at this intersection. Drive east another 4 miles, passing Needle Rock on the left and look for the ranch signs.

Telluride
2 hours 15 minutes

125 miles Take Hwy 145 out of Telluride. Turn right onto Hwy 62 to Ridgway. Turn left onto Hwy 550 to Montrose. hwy 550 becomes hwy 50 in Montrose. Continue on Hwy 50 into Delta. In Delta, turn right onto Hwy 92 and continue through Hotchkiss and southeast to the town of Crawford (about 9 miles). Turn left at Dogwood Avenue (between the post office and church) and proceed east approximately 2.3 miles to Needle Rock Road (dirt road) and turn right. There is a ranch sign at this intersection. Drive east another 4 miles, passing Needle Rock on the left and look for the ranch signs.

Denver

274 miles Take I-70 West towards Grand Junction. At Glenwood Springs, exit at #116. Turn right onto north River Dr. and another right at 6th Street. Turn right at Grand Avenue and go over the bridge and continue south on Hwy82. Turn right at hwy 133 (Carbondale). Continue on Hwy133 to Hotchkiss (70 miles). Turn left onto hwy92 in front of City Market in Hotchkiss. Continue on Hwy 92 to the town of Crawford (9 miles). Turn left at Dogwood avenue (between the post office and church) and proceed east approximately 2.3 miles to Needle Rock Road (dirt road) and turn right. Drive east another 4 miles, passing Needle Rock on the left and look for the ranch signs.
