Wine Cellar & Bar

Here at Smith Fork Ranch we believe a lot of what goes into a meal is the ingredients themselves. However, a meal is made those you cheers to it with and well we’d like to think a fine glass of wine or spirits adds to the ambience as well. At our bar we present a selection of local Colorado Only beers, a wide variety of domestic & international spirits, and a wine cellar with wines from around the world. Enjoy one of our craft cocktails that we have concocted with local spirits or ask our bartenders to shake (or stir) up one of your favorites.

The Old Elk Lodge

As soon as you open the big spruce door you’ll understand why this old log lodge has been the favorite hangout for many generations of visitors to this ranch. Here you’ll find a big stone fireplace, snooker, billiards, a fly-tying table, a well-stocked bar, and TV.

What is Snooker?

Housed in the Old Elk Lodge is our Snooker Table, it looks a lot like a traditional pool table and you can play traditional pool table billiards on the Snooker Table. But you may be wondering, what is the difference between snooker, billiards, pool and side pocket? The main difference is with respect to the number of balls used. In snooker, 22 balls, including the white colour striker ball, are used. The other coloured balls are as follows: 15 red, 1 yellow, 1 brown, 1 blue, 1 pink, 1 black and 1 green. While billiards of any kind are fun once you arrive be sure to ask the staff about a popular game they play, Freda, everyone can get involved in this game.

We’re dedicated oenophiles – and we love to share. In assembling Smith Fork Ranch’s Wine Spectator-awarded wine selection, we’ve chosen some favorites from our private cellar as well as other specific vintages from wineries we admire. Our offerings include bottles from the premiere growing regions of France, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, South America, South Africa and America’s West Coast, as well as Colorado’s own fine wine country. Above all, we want you to enjoy a wine that is a perfect match with the cuisine our chef prepares for you.

You may have noticed that we have a focus on “local” and it doesn’t stop at where we source our food from. Colorado’s craft brewing heritage and reputation as the country’s ground zero for small-batch artisan breweries make it the envy of beer-loving residents of other states. And while Coloradans didn’t invent the concept of a craft brewery, we think they should get credit for perfecting the art of craft beer and here at Smith Fork we like to showcase some of our favorites from around the state.
